The goal of online New Student Orientation is to provide you with a seamless transition to Metropolitan State University. You can access this module at any time during your time at the university, so be sure to bookmark it in your web browser.

During this module, you will:

  • Learn about academic and student support resources at Metropolitan State University
  • Understand your rights and responsibilities as a student
  • Determine your best options for financial planning
  • Access your specific major/program academic requirements

To complete this modules, please be prepared with the following:

  • Budget up to 3 hours to complete the online New Student Orientation
  • Your Metropolitan State University Star ID and password to log into:
    • D2L Brightspace
    • Student portal where you access e-mail, university announcements, university academic calendar, and other collaboration sites (via Sharepoint)
  • Access to a printer for handouts and other relevant information if you choose to download/print them
  • Pen, paper, or notepad to take notes

At the conclusion of this module, you will be directed to complete a quiz. This quiz will include the content found within the module, as well as the Program Information Meeting information for your intended major/program of study.
